Gillingham manager Andy Hessenthaler had plenty to smile about on Saturday night despite admitting the win over Aldershot was not a great spectacle.

Cody McDonald hit the winning goals for the Gills and Hessenthaler admits that they may need promotion to stand any chance of enticing him to move from Norwich permanently.

Hessenthaler also talks of the need to keep youngster Ashley Miller around the first team on a regular basis, and his thoughts on the first league start of the season for another youngster at the weekend, Luke Rooney.
