Andy Hessenthaler has warned his Gillingham players they face a tough week ahead following back-to-back away defeats.

The Gills have now lost six League 2 matches and dropped to 10th in the division following Saturday’s 2-0 defeat at Morecambe on Saturday.

Gills boss Hessenthaler (pictured) is demanding a response and will be going all-out on the training ground to iron out the problems.

"The players are under pressure; we’re all under pressure because we want results," said Hessenthaler.

"There is a lot of work to do and it will be a long week for them.

"There will be lots of work to be done and some of the players need to start listening a bit more.

"There were some poor performances out there (on Saturday).

"We have a week to recover and find the answers. Why can we go on a three-game unbeaten run, then at Swindon produce a good performance and not get what we deserved, then on Saturday produce a very average performance?

"No disrespect to Morecambe but we need to go to those places and get results if we are to achieve anything.

"Fair play to them. They had two opportunities and scored two goals through our mistakes."
