Gillingham have completed the double loan signings of Darren Dennehy and Tristan Plummer.

Defender Dennehy joins from Cardiff while 20-year-old Plummer, who can operate on the wing or up front, joins from Bristol City.

Both players have joined on initial one-month loan deals.

Dennehy, 21, is yet to play a game for Cardiff but enjoyed a loan spell at Hereford at the start of this season.

Former England under-17 and under-18 international Plummer, pictured, also spent time on loan at Hereford in League 2 earlier this season, scoring four goals in seven matches.

Gills boss Mark Stimson was keen to bring in some fresh faces and both players - along with loan signing Rene Howe who joined the Gills on Wednesday - are in line to feature against Colchester at Priestfield on Saturday.

Stimson said: "There are a few new faces needed. We’ve given these players time to get results away from home and they haven’t delivered.

"They have at home but we might need a different clientele away from home to be a bit more ruthless.

"We need to freshen things up. Some players are thinking they are going to be playing every week but we might need some new faces in so that we can say you will play every week but only if you perform."
