WE need a big noisy crowd this weekend for what is the final home league fixture of the season and a massive game.

We really, really need the fans this week and want them to get behind the players from the off. The supporters can help lift the players and raise the tempo. I also think it would be nice to see the return of some drums in the ground, which we used to have during our Championship days.

It would help make it a great occasion. Drums or not, we just hope everyone gets involved and makes it a special atmosphere this weekend.

The amount of changes we made at Rotherham on Monday might have shocked a few people but if you look at our squad, we’ve probably got one of the strongest in the division on paper.

For the players left out, it was nothing personal. They all handled it fantastically well. They were disappointed but it’s a squad game and they appreciate that.

It’s a unique stadium at the Don Valley and remember playing there under Mark Stimson. It’s the type of ground that West Ham are going to end up playing in with the running track around the pitch.

During the warm-up we looked over at the main stand where all the fans were. There was music blasting out of the speakers and it looked like everyone was enjoying a party over in the stand and we were on our own having a game of football.

After the game myself and the manager were in the changing rooms and it felt like we had been in a boxing match.

When you are watching, you end up kicking every ball and you shout much more than you would on the pitch. We were just delighted to get rid of that Barnet performance.

I was speaking with Benno (pictured) after the game and asking him if he had stopped running yet!

He never stopped and gave an all-action performance and it never looked like he had been away – only problem is he appears to have lost his column!

We celebrated on the way home by stopping off at KFC but unfortunately the bus wouldn’t fit through the drive-through so the players had to get off.

They deserved the treat and
all got stuck in after a long week.

We move on to the Macclesfield game now and that will be massive.

See you Saturday, Trigger.
