Gillingham will face Barnet in the second round of the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy.

The two sides met last month in an entertaining draw at Underhill which finished 2-2, with Jack Payne giving the Gilsl a late lead (pictured) only for the hosts to snatch an injury-time equaliser.

The Bees beat Colchester in the first round of the tournament while the Gills were handed a bye.

Last season the Gills were beaten in the opening round of the tournament at Southend. The match finished 0-0 after 90 minutes but the home side went through after winning on penalties.

The Southern section match will take place in the week commencing October 3.
