Gillingham defender Connor Essam signs new three-year contract at Priestfield

Gillingham defender Connor Essam has signed a new three-year contract at Priestfield.

The deal keeps Essam at the club until the end of the 2014/15 season.

The promising 19-year-old, who made his debut against Southend in February, enjoyed an excellent end to the season despite Gillingham’s failure to make the League 2 play-offs.

Essam (pictured) went on make 18 league appearances for the Gills but was out of contract at the end of last season so his signature will prove a major boost for whoever Gillingham appoint as their new manager.
