Gillingham’s out-of-contract players will be dealt with by chairman Paul Scally this week following Mark Stimson’s departure on Monday.

Mr Scally intends to make contact with the players today in what is likely to be a busy period for the Gillingham chairman.

He is also due to meet with assistant manager Scott Barrett and first team coach Mark Robson to discuss their futures.

It is understood 14 players are coming to the end of their existing contracts.

They are captain Barry Fuller, who was offered a new deal in February, Stuart Lewis, Simon Royce, Garry Richards, Mark Bentley, Adam Miller, Dennis Oli, Tom Wynter, Andy Pugh, Luis Cumbers, Jacob Erskine, James Walker and Rashid Yussuff.

John Nutter has triggered an automatic clause due to apperances, which entitiles him to be offered a new contract, but it is understood that it has yet to be put forward.

"There is nobody else to do it and I’ll talk to the players and make a decision," said Mr Scally.
