Gillingham have agreed a financial settlement with former manager Mark Stimson.

The 42-year-old left the Gills following relegation from League 1 with a year remaining on his contract.

Stimson took over as manager of Gillingham’s League 2 rivals Barnet on June 1.

An initial offer from chairman Paul Scally was rejected by Stimson but now both parties have come to an agreement.

A statement on the Gills’ website said: "Everyone at Gillingham FC would like to wish Mark well for the future."

Stimson will face his old club at Barnet’s Underhill ground on November 23 before making the return to Priestfield on April 23.
