The two clean sheets from our last two away games speak volumes of the players and the work that has been done on the training ground.

There were some massive performances from the team, from a defensive point of view, on Tuesday night as the lads did great to win a point at York.

We cleared our lines and kept our shape. We were compact and looked dangerous on the break at times. Had we got the victory, it would have been a textbook away performance but at least we have come away with something and that’s our aim every game.

There was always going to be a reaction from York after their 4-0 defeat to Wycombe in the previous match. They brought in a couple of new players and gave them their debuts and it was always going to be tough.

But we stood up to it well. We created three or four chances for ourselves as well and on another day it could have been a different scenario.

We so nearly won it late on when Charlie Lee’s strike hit the bar.

That is something Charlie (pictured) has in his locker. He is technically good and it wasn’t an easy shot to hit, let alone when you have just come on the field. It was his first touch of the game. He caught it well and I’m not sure the keeper knew much about it.

Since that home defeat by Wycombe, we’ve picked up four points on the road from two matches and if we can average that over the course of the season, then we won’t be far away.
