Cycling to school is a good way of helping to save the environment as well as getting some healthy exercise.

But taking up cycling involves more than just learning how to balance, as children at East Borough Primary School in Maidstone found out.

The school held a workshop in bike maintenance, including how to fix a puncture, as part of their Cycle To School week.

The school’s business manager Caroline Judge said: “It’s going well. We’ve had about 90 children cycling to school each day this week instead of the usual dozen.”
