Gary Rhodes exits Strictly Come Dancing

Celebrity chef Gary Rhodes has been knocked out of Strictly Come Dancing.

The father-of-two, originally from Gillingham, bowed out of the competition last night after losing out to Olympic swimmer Mark Foster.

Gary's performance, with professional dancing partner Karen Hardy, on the BBC1 show on Saturday failed to impress the judges. Gary and Karen jived to Lipstick, Powder and Paint by Shakin Stevens but judge Arlene described Gary's footwork as "flat as a pancake."

The judges awarded Gary a total of just 18, leaving him at the bottom of the points table.

His failure to win enough public votes to boost his score meant Gary had to take to the dance floor once more on Sunday in the dance-off.

The judges chose Mark and partner Hayley Holt to stay, making Gary and Karen the third couple to leave the series.

To end the show, Gary and Karen enjoyed one final dance to the Gladys Knight and the Pips song Midnight Train to Georgia.
