A JAMMED lorry caused traffic misery for hundreds of motorists today when a road was blocked for more than an hour.

The driver of a four tonne heavy goods vehicle attempted to perform a three-point turn in Town Hill, West Malling, at about 7.30am.

But the narrow width of the road meant the lorry was unable to complete the manoeuvre- blocking both lanes until about 8.30am.

Furious drivers were forced to seek alternative routes via Kings Hill and the surrounding minor roads.

Peter Cosier, from West Malling, said: “There wasn’t enough space so it became locked across the street making it impossible for vehicles or pedestrians to get past.

“No one was able to get through - but at least the town was very peaceful without the usual rat runners.”
