A FOURTH man has admitted his part in a plot to smuggle illegal immigrants into Kent by light aircraft.

Pilot Wyatt Anderson, 46, of London Road, Camberley, Surrey, Mensur Hassan, 32, of Daubney Road, Clapton, North London, and Anthony Davies, 41, of Chalfont Road, Edmonton, North London, all pleaded guilty at Maidstone Crown Couert last week to conspiracy to facilitate illegal entry.

Now Isa Baskaya, 45, of Bemerton Street, Islington, North London, has pleaded guilty to facilitating illegal entry by collecting four illegal immigrants at Lamberhurst “airstrip” on July 2.

Baskaya admitted his guilt when about to stand trial with Davies’s wife Jeannette, 40, and Indat Oztas, 29, of Carleton Road, Hornsey, North London, who have denied the conspiracy charge.

The trial could not proceed as Mrs Davies was said to have a serious back problem and was unable to move. Judge Michael Neligan adjourned until Wednesday (April 6).

Anderson dropped off Turkish immigrants after twice landing a six-seater Piper Cherokee plane at Lamberhurst.

The four who have pleaded guilty will be sentenced after the trial. The judge refused to order a pre-sentence report for Baskaya.
