Former Gillingham boss Mark Stimson was sacked as Barnet manager on Saturday evening - less than a year after leaving Priestfield.

Stimson (pictured), who was the Gills boss for two and a half years, took on the management job at Barnet shortly after his departure from Priestfield following last season’s relegation.

Barnet, who the Gills beat on their travels in November, lost 2-1 at home to Aldershot on Saturday and sit second from bottom in League 2.

Stimson said: "The (Barnet) chairman made the decision and I am gutted but I have to accept it."
