Police cordoned-off a section of Chatham this afternoon.

Officers sealed off Thorold Road, near the bottom of Chatham Hill.

It is not clear at this stage what has happened but forensic officers are on the scene carrying out investigations and a police helicopter is hovering above the area.

One eye witness who didn’t want to be named said: “There are police everywhere, it’s all sealed off.

"I don’t know what’s happened but there are forensic officers scouring the streets.”
