MARGATE football club have been granted detailed planning permission for the club's proposed development of Hartsdown Park.

The approval was given by both the planning committee and the full council on Thursday night.

A statement on the club's website said: "The development team will now subnit its project viability statement to Thanet district council for approval and we expect to be ready to commence the total re-development of Hartsdown Park before the turn of the year."

Manager Chris Kinnear has "now been advised to increase his search for more new players to return the club back to the Nationwide Conference."

Kinnear said before Thursday's meeting that he thought Gate could be "as big as anybody in non-league football".
