A Folkestone man has been remanded in custody today following an attack in the town last week.

Stephen Boorman has been charged with the attempted murder of a 44-year-old man, who suffered stab wounds.

The 27-year-old appeared before magistrates, and was remanded to appear at Maidstone Crown Court on Wednesday.

Boorman, of Coolinge Road, was arrested after police were called to Black Bull Road, at just after 6pm on Thursday.

A 29-year-old man arrested at the same time has been released without charge.
