About 30 firefighters tackled a large blaze in Marden this afternoon.

Six crews were called to the scene - a series of commercial building, in Staplehurst Road - at about 12.30pm.

The fire was brought under control by about 2pm, but remained at the scene damping down.

Kent Fire and Rescue Service advised residents to keep their windows and doors closed as a precaution because of large plumes of smoke.
