Female driver dies after rush-hour smash

POLICE have confirmed that a woman involved in a car crash in has died.

The 45-year-old, who has not yet been named, was driving her Peugeot 205 on the A259 Dymchurch Road, St Mary's Bay, near New Romney, when the accident happened.

She collided with a Citroen Picasso at 8.20am on Thursday.

Fire crews from Dymchurch and New Romney were called and the road was closed until 12.45pm.

The driver died on the way to the William Harvey Hospital in Ashford.
