Feast in store for air show fans

BATTLE of Britain aircraft will take to the skies over Thanet this summer as part of the area’s air show.

Two Hurricanes, a Lancaster, a Dakota, five Spitfires and the last two operational Chipmunks - collectively known as the memorial flight - will be among the highlights at the event that will be based at Palm Bay, Cliftonville, on the weekend of June 18 and 19.

The flight has been sponsored at the EUjet.com Flight Thanet Air Show by The Sleep Centre, Ramsgate, whose director Paul Nettleingham, said: "It will be a fantastic and nostalgic display for everyone to enjoy, especially as 2005 marks the 60th anniversary of the end of the second world war."

Tickets are available during April for only £7, or £5 for seven to 16-year-olds. Children under the age of seven will be admitted free of charge and must be accompanied by an adult.
