This picture shows the latest public relations gaffe by Medway Council's new CCTV patrol.

Since its launch last month readers have been sending us their pictures of the unloved vehicle's questionable parking habits.

Last week it was spotted on double yellow lines opposite Byron School, Gillingham. Reader Phil Bevens snapped this shot last Friday afternoon.

It shows one of the CCTV team returning to the car after a trip to a nearby fast food restaurant.

Medway Council has defended the actions of its staff saying a colleague was sat in the car recording illegal parking while the other went to get a drink.
