Family at suspicious death house "keep themselves to themselves"

The family living at a house where a woman's body was found "keep themselves to themselves" according to villagers.

Police are treating as suspicious the death of the woman, in her 40s, at the house in Denton Lane, Wootton.

Two men remain in custody. Both aged 56 and local, they and were arrested after the body was found on Monday evening.

Village neighbourhood watch co-ordinator Ken Goldsmith said: "The first we were aware of a problem was when a lot of police vehicles arrived at the house.

"The family keep themselves to themselves and we don't know much about them."

Police were called to the house at 6.30pm Monday.

The body was found on the floor of the bedroom.

A post mortem is being carried out.

Police spokesman Rosy Alexander said the death was being treated as suspicious.

The body was taken away at around 5.20pm on Tuesday and forensic investigations are continuing.
