The thief stole £50 after threatening the young woman with a knife

POLICE have issued an e-fit of a man suspected of threatening a female shop assistant with a 10-inch kitchen knife during a robbery.

A man entered Shorncliffe Post Office in Royal Military Avenue, Cheriton, near Folkestone, at around 8.45am on Sunday.

He shouted at the shop worker - a woman in her early 20s - to open the till. The offender escaped with £50 in cash.

Police searched the surrounding area but were unable to trace the offender.

He is described as white, aged in his 30s or 40s, around 5ft 10in tall with a moustache. He was wearing a navy blue woollen hat and a dark-coloured jacket.
