POLICE have released this e-fit of one of the suspects involved in a Royal Mail delivery van robbery on Friday.

The thieves struck just before 10am in Vulcan Close, Whitstable, and drove the van away. One robber, right, was black and the other white.

A 35-year-old woman driving the van was pushed to the ground and suffered minor injuries.

It has been confirmed that 17 special delivery parcels were stolen, although police say the contents of the stolen parcels is unknown.

A police helicopter was deployed to search for the van which was found in nearby Windmill Road about an hour later.

No weapons were used or seen during the robbery. Police are still investigating, to discover what, if anything, was taken.

Det Insp Mark Button said: "We are keen to hear from anyone who may have seen the theft of the van or witnessed the vehicle being dumped in Windmill Road.

"We are also seeking information on a maroon coloured Ford Galaxy which may have been involved in the robbery."

Anyone with information is asked to contact the police on 01227 762055 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
