Face of knifeman in abduction bid

The man, thought to be in his 40s, pounced when he saw the 17-year-old girl walking along North Dane Way, Lordswood, Chatham, at about 4.30pm on Wednesday, June 22.

He ran up behind the young woman who was wearing a bikini top and a short white skirt and grabbed her. He then held a knife to her neck before demanding that she followed him.

She managed to struggle free and dashed to a nearby car and alerted the driver before the offender made off.

The man police are searching for is described as being about 5ft 9in tall with a fat round face, stubble and a prominent nose.

He had short brown/blond hair worn underneath a faded navy baseball cap. He had a stocky build and was wearing a dark blue top, sunglasses and black shorts.

A nearby cyclist could hold vital clues and police would like to speak to him.

Witnesses, or anyone who may have information in connection with this incident, are asked to call Medway police on 01634 884 203 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111
