Folkestone Invicta suffered a narrow 2-1 defeat at Blue Square Bet South side Eastleigh as they were knocked out in the third qualifying round.

The Spitfires went ahead inside 11 minutes and doubled their lead on 56 minutes and despite Darren Smith's (pictured) superb 30-yard free-kick reducing the deficit within five minutes the visitors were unable to find an equaliser and it was the hosts who progressed.

Maidstone United's run was ended by Division 1 North side Harlow Town, as they suffered a 3-0 defeat in Essex.

Two goals in five minutes either side of half-time did the damage with former Margate and Welling man Che Stadhart adding a third on 54 minutes.

It was the third time this season that the Stones have gone out of a cup competition at the hands of lower-league opponents.
