FA Cup 2nd Qualifying Round draw pairs Blue Square Bet South sides with Kent League minnows

The draw for the FA Cup 2nd qualifying round threw up several Kent derbies, with some of the big guns of Blue Square Bet South facing potential banana skins in the form of trips to lower division opposition.

Dover Athletic will face a potentially tricky trip to face Safety Net Kent League Premier Division side Erith Town, who overcame Southern League Central front-runners Slough 1-0 in the previous round.

Ebbsfleet are another Blue Square Bet South handed a trip to lower division opponents after being paired with Cray Wanderers at their temporary Hayes Lane home.

Welling and Bromley are both away to fellow Blue Square South sides, travelling to Braintree and Bishop's Stortford respectively while Dartford host ambitious Ryman Premier Division side Lowestoft Town.

Margate will welcome Ryman Premier Division rivals Kingstonian while Folkestone Invicta host Suffolk side Leiston of the Eastern Counties League Premier Division and Division 1 South side Whitstable face a tough trip to Canvey Island of the Premier Division.

Hythe Town and Kent League rivals Erith & Belvedere will face-off at Reachfields while Beckenham face a daunting trip to Blue Square Bet South side St Albans City.

FA Cup 2nd Qualifying Round (to be played on Saturday, September 25): Southern draw – Hythe Town v Erith & Belvedere, Erith Town v Dover Athletic, Braintree Town v Welling United, Bishop's Stortford v Bromley, Folkestone Invicta v Leiston, Canvey Island v Whitstable, Cray Wanderers v Ebbsfleet United, St Albans City v Beckenham Town, Margate v Kingstonian, Dartford v Lowestoft Town.
