A FORMER commercial director of Gillingham Football Club is recovering after a plane crash.

Mike Sullivan was among five other people on board a light aircraft when it came down over a golf course in Buckinghamshire.

Mr Sullivan, also a former Kent Messenger Group employee, now works as marketing manager for Swindon Town FC.

He was travelling back with some colleagues after watching Swindon’s 1-0 victory at Hartlepool when the plane crashed.

The pilot was seriously injured and is being treated in hospital and all the passengers suffered injuries although none died.

Mr Sullivan, who once worked in the KM's newspaper sales department, broke his arm in the crash.

His wife, Anita, has been at his bedside and said his condition was improving.
