NEVER ask someone to do a job you're not prepared to do yourself.

That was Bobby Cummines' work philosophy when he was one of Britain's most notorious armed robbers.

The reformed criminal, now a charity chief executive based in Snodland, says it's a work ethic that Britain's most-audacious-ever robbers should have stuck to.

In an exclusive interview with the Kent Messenger, Mr Cummines gives his unique take on the robbery.

He is still struggling to understand how a criminal gang could be so daring, so brilliant and so inept, all at the same time.

"It's the Mona Lisa of crime, but the stupidity of the small details really surprised me," explained Mr Cummines.

"The bit of work itself was very clean and very professional, but to do a job that thoroughly and then make a complete hash of it...

"They took too much money for a start. You have to get a lot of people involved to launder £50million."

See this week's Kent Messenger for the full exclusive interview.
