Essential safety work on viaduct to be carried out

ESSENTIAL safety work is to be carried out to the viaduct on the A2 Jubilee Way at Dover starting on Sunday and lasting for up to three weeks.

Existing manhole covers will be replaced and the road surface around them strengthened, to improve the quality of the road for drivers.

One of the London-bound lanes will be closed while the work is carried out.

Bala Vishnubala, project manager for the Highways Agency said: "These essential works to the bridge are part of our ongoing commitment to help people make their journeys safely and reliably.

"We thank drivers for their patience whilst we are doing the work and we ask them to allow extra time for their journeys and to drive safely through the roadworks."
