Elderly pedestrian hurt in crash

A BUSY part of Rochester was cordoned off after a road crash left three people injured, one seriously.

A motorbike collided with a pedestrian, a Volvo car and a coach. Traffic was diverted as City Way was shut off for several hours as officers cleared away the debris.

An ambulance spokesman said: "A man riding the motorbike bike suffered leg injuries, as did the female passenger he was carrying. They had mainly skeletal injuries, so nothing too serious."

The pedestrian, an elderly man, was taken to Medway Maritime Hospital with head injuries. His condition was said to be poorly.

Residents living in City Way insist the road is getting worse for accidents and near-misses.
