Elderly pedestrian dies after collision with car

A MAN in his 80s has died following a road accident.

The elderly pedestrian and a Ford Escort car were in collision in Garden Road, off Camden Road, Tunbridge Wells at 5.45pm on Friday, July 15.

The man was taken to the town’s Kent and Sussex Hospital where he died later in the evening. Relatives have been informed but he has not yet been named.

The road was closed following the accident to allow emergency services, including Kent Police’ Serious Collision Investigation Unit, to attend. The road did not reopen until 9pm.
