Eight hurt in M20 pile-up

EIGHT people were injured today when a vehicle ploughed through the central reservation of a motorway.

The crash, involving a lorry, a van and four cars, severely hampered morning rush hour traffic along the M20.

It happened at 4.35am near Wrotham. It is believed that a lorry crashed through the central reservation and into oncoming traffic.

It is understood that two people have suffered serious injuries. All patients have been taken to hospital.

* Early reports indicated that a man had died in the incident but police say this is not the case.
