Eight arrested after routine stop-check

A routine stop check led to eight arrests and the seizure of imitation firearms, cash and a supply of suspected illegal drugs.

Officers seized what they believe to be class C drugs and arrested four men from Paddock Wood after stopping a car just off Maidstone Road, Paddock Wood at 4.40pm, on Friday.

Further investigations lead to the arrest of four more men, also from Paddock Wood, and further confiscations.

A 19-year-old was later cautioned for possession of a class C drug and a 19-year-old was cautioned for possession of an offensive weapon.

Six others were released on police bail while further inquiries are made.

The arrests were carried out by one of the West Kent Neighbourhood Task Teams who work alongside other officers but concentrate on ongoing concerns of residents.
