Driver trapped after pile-up on M20

A MAN had to be cut free from his car following a pile-up involving four vehicles on the M20.

The accident happened on the London-bound carriageway between junction 5 at Aylesford and junction 4 at West Malling.

Larkfield firefighters used hydraulic cutting equipment to free the man from his red Vauxhall Nova. He was taken to Maidstone Hospital where he was treated for back and neck pain.

The incident happened on at about 7.20am Wednesday. Police officers closed lane one of the motorway while emergency services treated the casualties and carried out an investigation. Rush hour traffic tailed back along the motorway until the road was re-opened just after 8.50am.
