A LORRY driver was taken to hospital after his vehicle overturned on the A228 between the villages of Snodland and Halling.

The driver was suffering from neck pain but it is not thought his injuries were serious.

The emergency services were called to the scene at about 1.20pm on Saturday. There were traffic hold-ups in and out of Strood as a result of the incident.

Insp Ian Hunter, from Kent Police, said: "The road was closed for several hours while the lorry was recovered."
