Driver dies in hospital after car smash

ONE man died and another was seriously injured when their BMW cars collided in the county at the weekend.

The accident took place on the A2070, Brenzett, Romney Marsh just after 10pm on Sunday.

The man who died was driving a silver BMW Z3. He was from Essex.

The other vehicle involved was a blue BMW 318, which was being driven by a 42-year-old man from London.

The victim was taken to the William Harvey Hospital, but later died from his injuries.

The driver of the BMW 318 was also taken to hospital with what police describe as serious, but not life-threatening, leg injuries.

Police are appealing for witnesses to contact the serious crash investigation unit on 01622 600967.

Meanwhile, a man had to be cut free from his Jaguar car after it overturned.

The accident happened shortly after 7pm on Friday on Alders Road, Five Oak Green.

The man suffered minor head injuries and no other vehicles were involved.
