Drama as car overturns in town centre

PASSERS-BY and other motorists had a lucky escape following a freak accident in a Kent town centre.

A blue Renault was turned on its roof after colliding with a silver Ford outside the library in High Street, New Romney, near Hythe, at about 10am on Friday.

Firefighters, police and ambulance crews were called and an elderly woman and her pet dog were taken to hospital.

The condition of the woman and the dog are not yet known.
