An 86th-minute winner from Tom Whitnell gave Welling their first win in six Blue Square South league games on Saturday.

Whitnell crashed the ball home from 12 yards as the Wings also ended a barren run in front of goal.

They took a 10th-minute lead when on-loan Charlton defender Yado Mambo headed in Jake Hobbs's right-wing cross. It was the first time Welling had found the net in five matches.

Tony Finn nearly doubled the lead moments later but lacked power in his shot and the same player saw his right-foot effort deflected wide on the half hour.

Dorchester had barely threatened Charlie Mitten's goal but they equalised five minutes before half-time when Ryan Moss's cross-shot was turned in at close range by Matt Groves.

The impressive Finn twice went close again at the start of the second half but it was Dorchester who missed the game's clearest chance when Jamie Gleeson blazed over from 10 yards in the 65th minute.

Wings defender Steve King headed straight at the keeper before substitute Steffan Gaisie shot wide from close range after more good work from Finn.

Whitnell, who led the line effectively on his first Welling start, headed wide with seven mnutes left, but he quickly made amends when he slotted home the winner.

Bromley v Weston-super-Mare

Bromley extended their unbeaten run to six matches with a 1-1 draw with Weston-super-Mare at Hayes Lane.

The visitors went in front in the 20th minute when a long punt forward from keeper Kevin Sawyer was flicked on by Mark McGregor for Ashan Holgate to drill past Gareth Williams in the Lillywhites goal.

The leveller came in bizarre circumstances on 52 minutes when Warren McBean put pressure on Sawyer and the keeper's clearance smashed into the Bromley striker before looping into the empty net.

The hosts were reduced to 10 men with 10 minutes to play when Robbie Kember kicked out at Ade Harris after the Weston player had hauled him down on the wing.

Walton & Hersham v Cray Wanderers

Cray suffered a disappointing 2-1 FA Cup first qualifying round defeat to Walton & Hersham who play in the division below them.

David Tauper put Walton in front from the penalty spot two minutes into the second half.

Lee Bremner equalised for Cray on 68 minutes when the ball struck him and rebounded back into the net - but Tauper held off two tackles to score the winner two minutes later.
