A TEENAGE gang, allegedly backed by two women, beat a man unconscious leaving him with facial injuries.

Jason Stanley had to be dragged clear by a neighbour. The incident happened on the Chattenden Estate, near Hoo, on Wednesday evening, when Mr Stanley, of Elmwood Road, was taking his dog for a walk.

Mr Stanley's partner Leigh Billington said: "There were 20 or 30 of them aged betweem 15 and 20. They were just running in and kicking Jason while he was on the ground.

"What's amazing is that there were a couple of mothers in there, too."

A spokesman for Medway Police confirmed officers had been called to a disturbance at Chattenden on Wednesday following an attack on a 42-year-old man.

Two women, one aged 37 the other aged 40, were arrested and questioned in connection with the incident. Both were bailed pending further inquiries.
