Did you witness serious assault?

DETECTIVES are appealing for witnesses following a serious assault on a man who had to be treated for head injuries.

The victim was a middle-aged Asian but police have ruled out a racial motive and believe the assault was drug-related.

He was attacked in a private residence in Gillingham Road, Gillingham, near the junction with Nile Road, between 2pm and 2.30pm on Friday.

Insp Mike Innes said: "Three people have been arrested but others believed to be involved are still being sought."

The victim was taken to Gillingham's Medway Maritime Hospital where his condition was later described as stable. Three people, two women and a man, were arrested on Saturday and were kept in custody.

Anyone with information concerning this incident should contact Medway Police on 01634 884071 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
