POLICE investigating the death of a 19-year-old moped rider in a road accident want to contact a motorist who first reported the crash to the emergency services.

Lee O’Connor, from Istead Rise, near Gravesend, died after his machine was in collision with a lorry on Tuesday, May 21, at the Bluewater/Bean interchange on the A2.

The man police wish to speak to stopped near the collision and used an orange emergency phone box. He was driving a black Mazda or Nissan that was described as an old-style vehicle. Anyone with any information is asked to call PC Bob Welsby at the Traffic Unit on 01622 608053.

Mr O’Connor’s funeral will take place on Friday (May 31) at 2.20pm at Medway Crematorium.
