Death crash victim named

A MAN who died from multiple injuries in an horrific car crash in Gillingham has been named as Stuart Hargreaves.

Mr Hargreaves, 23, was a front-seat passenger in the car which smashed through the central reservation in Pier Road on Monday night. He had to cut free from the mangled wreckage, but a 21-year-old girl sitting in the back manged to struggle free.

The teenage driver was taken to hospital with a back injury.

No other vehicle was involved in the accident which happened at about 11.20pm.

Mr Hargreaves, of Copenhagen Road, Gillingham, died later at Medway Maritime Hospital.
