Dartford manager Tony Burman refused to give up on the Blue Square Bet South championship despite his side suffering a frustrating afternoon against Chelmsford.

This stalemate left Darts seven points behind leaders Woking with just four games remaining, but Burman said there was still plenty to play for.

He explained: “I’m not going to get down because we’ve drawn a game instead of winning it. It was decent point, we played reasonably well but just have not put the ball away.

"Chelmsford's reaction to getting a 0-0 shows how much we've moved on and I've got to give them credit. They defended with an 'an over my dead body' attitude, and it has not quite worked for us but we move on.

"Nothing’s over until it's over, we’ve got to keep carrying on. Woking have been excellent all season but they've still had some strange results by their standards.

"You've got to think positive, we should not be negative we've done brilliantly this year and we still want to finish as high as we can."

Darts finished the match with 10 men after on-loan defender Luke Wilkinson was sent off for collecting two yellows, but they looked the most likely to score for much of the afternoon.

Before a crowd of 1660 at Princes Park, Dartford created the best of the early chances with Adam Green (pictured) looking particularly lively. He sent a low cross wide of the far post with no-one able to get a touch and then crossed for Danny Harris whose header drifted just wide.

James Rogers then forced a good tip over from Chelmsford keeper Stuart Searle after a neat shot on the turn and in the second half Lee Noble should have done better than head straight into the keeper's arms.

Home keeper Louis Wells had to show good reactions to keep out a close-range effort from the visitors but Darts continued to be the sharper side and, as they pushed for a winner, Jacob Irskine headed wide before Harris brought a good save from Searle from 10 yards.

Further chances fell to Harris, Elliot Bradbrook and Rogers and even after Wilkinson's red card - a yellow for a foul being followed by another for dissent - they did not stop going forward.
