The father of a murdered Margate businessman has turned to the internet in the hope of finding his son’s killer.

Dan O’Leary has hired two private detectives in the seven months since his son David was shot dead at his luxury home in Lydden, near Margate.

The murderer fired two shots as the 31-year-old returned from a night out with his girlfriend on Saturday, March 1.

His father has offered a £500,000 reward for information about his son’s killer and is hoping that a new website, www.whokilleddavid.co.uk, may encourage witnesses to come forward.

Mr O’Leary, 68, said: “I’ve already sent out 100,000 leaflets and the extra publicity that I’m sure this website will generate will hopefully catch the parasite, the cockroach, who killed my son.

“People had been scared to speak to me because they thought I was too bereaved. Once they knew that I was OK, that I'm just angry about what happened, they came forward and volunteered to help set up the website.”

Friends of Mr O’Leary have also created a page on the social networking website Facebook. More than 800 people have signed up to the group entitled 'Who Killed David?’

A video posted on the YouTube website has been viewed more than 600 times since it was uploaded on Sunday, October 19.
