Crash boy 'much, much better'

A YOUNG boy who was fighting for his life in hospital after a road crash at the weekend in Seven Mile Lane, Mereworth, has come out of his critical condition.

The six-year-old, from Strood, was a passenger in a van that was in collision with a motorcycle.

He received serious head injuries and was airlifted to Maidstone Hospital. Later he was transferred to a specialist hospital in London where he is said to be recovering. A police spokeswoman said: “He is much, much better.”

The rider of the motorbike, a Maidstone man, was also badly injured and taken to Maidstone Hospital. The driver of the van was not injured.
