THE emergency services were today still investigating after part of a couple's suburban home collapsed into a huge hole.

A main railway line closed after the house collapsed early yesterday in Ridley Road, Bromley.

Kent commuters suffered delays of at least half an hour on their journeys home from London. Services on the Eurostar trains were also disrupted.

The front of Terry and Eve Shepherd's home crashed into a hole in their driveway and a gas pipe was also cracked in the collapse. Police and London Fire Brigade evacuated neighbouring homes.

It is understood nobody was injured in the incident.
