Copper stolen from library roof

POLICE in North Kent are investigating the theft of copper from the roof of a library in Coldharbour Road at Northfleet.

Officers say it appears the offenders stole some of the copper from the roof and left other pieces rolled up.

It is estimated that in excess of £2,500 of copper has been stolen with a substantial amount of damage caused to the roof.

The last time anyone with authority went on to the roof was in July but police think the theft took place in the last few days because the roof started leaking.

Anyone with information is asked to contact PC Tony Thrower on 01474 565220 quoting reference 21045 or Kent Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 – calls to this number are free.
