Company ball raises over £1,000

MORE than 130 attended a charity ball held at the Ashford International Hotel and organised by the Ashford-based rail company XEL.

The event, in aid of the Pilgrims Hospice and Ashford's Wyvern School for autistic children, raised more than £1,000.

XEL general manager Brian Hampton said: "The managing director John Carpenter does something for charity each year and this year we decided we would like to support local good causes."
