Kent commuters travelling to London faced rail chaos this morning after a fire at Victoria station.

No trains from the county were able to get into the London station from about 7am.

It meant many Southeastern services between Ashford International and Victoria were delayed by around 40 minutes and others were cancelled.

Victoria station had to be evacuated when the fire broke out on a Gatwick Express service.

British Transport Police confirmed the fire was put out about an hour later and the station re-opened.
